Jane
began teaching dog obedience classes in 1991. In 1992, she joined
with two other trainers to teach obedience classes for the Anderson
County Humane Society. Jane also taught the dog obedience program
for the Tri County Technical College in Pendleton, from 1994 to
2000. Although her primary breed is the West Highland White Terrier,
she also shares her life with a Shetland Sheepdog, Bernese Mountain
Dog and is a cat lover with her multiple felines residing peacefully
with her canine companions. Jane was privileged to live and work
with a retired greyhound for 12 years. Jane and her dogs have been
active in conformation, obedience, agility, earth dog events, lure
coursing, tracking and pet therapy programs. Jane is a long time
member of the West Highland White Terrier Club of Atlanta, America
and England and The Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She is an
active participant in the Atlanta Westie Rescue program, providing
rehabilitation and fosters Westies coming through the program. Since
1999 she has written a well known training and advice column called
“Westie Wisdom”, which has led to her teaching Westie training
seminars around the country.
